Hay runners looking for more drivers who can lend a hand

Need For Feed Australia has put a call out to truckies able to assist with an upcoming hay run, ahead of Christmas.

Departing from Victoria on Friday December 8, the next hay run will focus on those who have been impacted by drought and fires in northern New South Wales and Queensland.

The convoy will meet with other trucks from NSW at Narrandera Showgrounds that evening, where they will be hosted by the Lions Club.

Trucks will depart early on the Saturday, the next morning, bound for Glen Innes, where they’ll be hosted at the showgrounds by the Lions Club and the Men’s Shed.

Then deliveries will be made on Sunday, before the hay runners return home.

Fuel and running costs for trucks, meals and drinks are covered.

“You can join a group of like minded mates to make a difference to those still struggling to recover and make their Christmas a little brighter,” said Need For Feed Australia.

The organisation is also taking donations for the trip of much needed essentials, non-perishable foods, hampers and care packs to support farmers in need.

Donations can be dropped off to any of Need For Feed Australia’s 10 branches, before they are collected on December 5, ahead of the convoy.
