Truck-loving teen steals show at graduation thanks to grandad’s rig

It was a proud day for the Rolls family in Bothwell, Tasmania when truck-loving teenager Isabel pulled up to her Year 10 graduation dinner in her grandfather’s 2006 International Eagle 9900i.

Isabel told Big Rigs that it made her night to be dropped off by her grandad Peter, who founded Rolls Transport back in the 80s.

“I had a great night at my leavers’ dinner last Friday night,” she said.

“The highlight of my night was my pop driving me in his truck.

“It meant a lot to share the moment with my pop and to also show off his awesome truck.”

Isabel Rolls hopes to one day take over the family business, Rolls Transport.

Isabel’s mother Jacki Miller said her daughter, who graduated from Dominic College in Glenorchy, has always been interested in trucks.

“It’s always been her dream to be dropped off at her graduation in a truck,” she said.

It got a great reaction, she was the only one who arrived in a truck that night.

“Isabel is very close with her grandad and I think he was very proud to take her along.”

Isabel hopes to one day take over the family business.

“She’s always been a bit of a tomboy and the trucking industry appeals to her,” her mother continued.

“Her grandfather and her father have always involved her in what’s going on in the business, and her plan is to start working in the industry when she finishes school.”
