Teletrac Navman’s latest video telematics offering, the IQ Camera, has become the first camera device to receive Type-Approval by Transport Certification Australia (TCA) for Assurance Levels 1 and 2.
The IQ Camera is the first video telematics device to receive a TCA Type-Approval and will be the first in Australia eligible for customers to utilise and enrol in the Telematics Monitoring Application (TMA) and Road Infrastructure Management (RIM) access programs.
The TCA Type-Approved IQ Camera, powered by AI-enabled fleet management software, blends video footage with telematics information for transport operators to gain high-level insights and data while allowing for greater access and information of road networks throughout Australia.
TMA and RIM programs monitor parameters of location, time and identity of enrolled vehicles for road asset utilisation and planning. The newly type-approved IQ Camera provides the industry with the surety to comply with the requirements of the TMA and RIM programs and industry leading safety solutions.
The IQ Camera is an ideal solution for transport operators looking to get started with a single device that can help them with fleet management, video safety functionality, tracking and TMA compatibility.
With an all-in-one integrated system paired with TN360, Teletrac Navman’s fleet management platform, customers can enrol and benefit from a regulatory program such as TMA, while also providing essential telematics such as real-time location information, insights and alerts, reporting and more.
Teletrac Navman’s chief product officer Andrew Rossington said, “Teletrac Navman is the first to market with an integrated, TCA type-approved video telematics solution. The IQ Camera brings together safety, compliance and productivity in one package. It’s perfect for operators of mixed fleets or operators who are starting out on their video telematics journey, and seeking a solution that they can build on in the future.”
As the longest-serving TCA certified service provider in Australia, Teletrac Navman is proud to support the transport and logistics industry of Australia by powering workforces and creating better outcomes for all businesses.
“TMA provides a flexible, cost-effective approach to managing vehicle access using telematics using the National Telematics Framework,” said Gavin Hill, general manager, strategy and delivery, TCA.
“The new Teletrac Navman IQ Camera device has been type-approved by TCA, which means it can be used for the growing diversity of productivity and safety schemes which use TMA.
“Obtaining type-approval for the IQ Camera demonstrates Teletrac Navman’s commitment to the National Telematics Framework, and how the Framework enables innovation and technological developments with a focus on performance based functional and technical requirements.”
Teletrac Navman’s telematics solutions allow operators to find the right solution for their needs, especially transport businesses looking to improve access and increase payload.
