Driving a refrigerated Hino for Tas Fresh, based at Camdale in northern Tasmania, truckie Paul Fulford was unloading frozen food for delivery to a café at scenic Penguin.
“I have been a truck driver for 13 years and love the job and get to lots of nice places,” he said.
Fulford travels as far away as Smithton near the end of the Bass Highway and closer to towns such as Ulverstone.
“I deliver in a 100km radius from our home base,” he said.
When he gets time off work, Fulford enjoys fishing: “I catch some flathead and am also into boating and bike riding.”
It was blowing a gale that day and Fulford lent a hand after a gust blew some business cards from my camera bag, rushing around to pick them up, which was greatly appreciated.
Then he headed off for another delivery.
Fulford said he had no complaints about the Tassie roads he gets along and even praised the Bass Highway.
