Fuso has announced the next generation all-electric eCanter will be launched in Australia this May with a model line-up consisting of 14 variants.
Customers can choose from four different weight ratings, six wheelbases and three battery configurations, as well as the option of a City Cab or Wide Cab.
The eCanter was the first series production electric truck to be introduced in Australia in 2021, and Fuso claims the eCanter Next Gen “sets a new standard in the light duty electric truck class” and allows the truck to travel further than ever.
“We are thrilled to offer such a comprehensive range for the next generation eCanter, making zero emission transport more accessible than ever,” said Daimler Truck Australia Pacific sales and marketing vice president, Andrew Assimo.
“The benefits of operating a fully electric small truck shouldn’t be limited to a handful of applications, so we are launching the most comprehensive line up of an electric truck ever seen in Australia.”
The eCanter will also be available with an optional electric Power Take Off (PTO), which lends the new eCanter Next Gen to a myriad of applications including fridge bodies, tilt trays, mini cranes and tippers in addition to van bodies and tautliners.
Safety features will include Advanced Emergency Braking System technology, with Active Side Guard Assist – which can detect hazards down the side of the truck, such as moving pedestrians and cyclists, when turning left.
