Applications open for $1.5 million in road safety grants for Victoria

Applications are now open for this year’s $1.5 million Community Road Safety Grants Program.

Victorian councils, schools and not-for-profit organisations can apply for state government funding for programs that aim to improve road safety and reduce the number of lives lost on local roads.

“Road safety is all about people and our communities. That’s why localised community action is so important in eliminating death and serious injury on our roads,” said Minister for Roads and Road Safety Melissa Horne.

“These targeted, community-driven projects will help deliver a positive road safety message and we encourage the Victorian community to get involved in the Community Road Safety Grants Program to help reduce road trauma.”

Last year 94 organisations received funding to deliver over 251 programs and projects across the state, ranging from bike education, alcohol and other drugs, fatigue and distraction education, and programs that educate new Victorians on road safety.

Applications close on March 6.
