Nominations are now open for the inaugural REDARC Young Technician of the Year Award.
The award is open to VASA members or those working in VASA member businesses, and aims to celebrate the talent and contributions of individuals under 30 years of age within the automotive industry.
The winner will be announced at the 2024 VASA Wire & Gas convention in Brisbane on August 23-25.
The prize will include a fully-funded trip to the Wire & Gas convention for networking opportunities, as well as $5000 worth of items of their choosing from the current REDARC catalogue.
Organised by VASA, the trade association for specialists in auto air-conditioning, electrical and thermal management, the Wire & Gas convention is intended to help attendees navigate the rapid technological change and hot competition facing the automotive sector.
VASA president Brett Mead said the association is delighted to provide a platform that will honour the Young Technician of the Year’s achievements in front of industry leaders, experts, and peers.
“We are thrilled to host the inaugural REDARC Young Technician of the Year Award at Wire & Gas 2024 as, like REDARC, VASA believes in nurturing and empowering the next generation of automotive professionals,” he said.
“This award underscores REDARC’s commitment to fostering innovation, leadership, and excellence within the automotive industry, and the VASA board couldn’t be more proud for the association to be a part of it.”
Nominations will remain open until June 30, 2024. The winner will be selected in late July 2024, allowing time for travel and accommodation arrangements.
