Wall of Fame inductee Delsa Bury passes away aged 86

Shell Rimula Wall of Fame inductee and founding member of the Trafalgar Truck Restorers Club (TTRC), Delsa Bury, has passed away aged 86.

Delsa and her husband, James Bury, were well known for their dedication to the road transport industry and were both added to the Wall of Fame in Alice Springs in 2005.

James passed away in 2009 but Delsa was still an active member of the TTRC until her failing health caused her to cut back her attendance in recent years.

John Fowler, Secretary of the TTRC, said that Delsa will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

“Delsa was a lovely lady, a pleasure to talk to, and always ready to help.

“Both Delsa and Jim laid the foundations and guided our Club to be what it is today.”

Delsa’s funeral will be a graveside service at the Trafalgar Public Cemetery, 8 Cemetery Rd, Trafalgar East, Victoria, at 11am tomorrow (March 19).

Members of the TTRC have been encouraged to come along to the cemetary and bring their trucks if possible.

Delsa was a much-loved mother and mother-in-law to Bill, Sharon, Laurie and Robyn, as well as grandmother to Ashley, Tyson and Jordan, Rochelle and Scoot, Mark and Sam, Renae and Dale.

She was also a great-grandmother to Amber, Jax and Tate.
