There are loads of great events coming up in the trucking world over the next few months – put these dates in your diaries now!

LRTAQ/ALRTA Combined National Conference

March 21-23, 2024
The Goods Shed, Toowoomba, QLD

The Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Queensland (LRTAQ) will be hosting its annual conference in partnership with the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA). LRTAQ members, industry members, suppliers, service providers and government representatives are all invited to attend to receive the latest updates, discuss the future of the transport industry, and network.

WA Mack Muster and Truck Show

March 24, 2024

Byford, WA 

The WA Mack Muster and Truck Show brings Mack and other truck model enthusiasts together at the beautiful Quarry Farm in Byford, WA. The grassroots, family-friendly muster experience promises a fun day out with a truck display, food trucks, a kids’ zone, exhibits, local trucking celebrities and more. The committee raises money for cancer research and encourages everyone to get involved. 

APRIL

Colac Truck & Ute Show

April 6, 2024
Colac, VIC

The Colac Truck & Ute Show is a joint fundraiser for the Volunteer Emergency Services of the Colac Community, a collaborative effort of the Colac Fire Brigade and Colac SES Unit. They are back for their second annual event, which includes a Show ‘n’ Shine, children’s entertainment, live music, general stalls and food. Lots to do for the whole family! Pre-registrations for the show are now open and will continue until March 31, or you can register on the day. Contact colactruckanduteshow@gmail.com for more information.

Crawlin’ the Hume

Campbellfield, VIC

Relive the old route from Campbellfield to Albury and watch some amazing vintage trucks as they make their way up the Hume. It’s free for the public to watch the trucks, and entry is $50 per vehicle or $60 includes a Saturday night dinner at Albury Race Club. All vehicles must be over 25 years old, and entries close on March 22. South Australia Trucking Forum

The South Australia Trucking Forum, hosted by NatRoad in Adelaide and Mount Gambier, is an opportunity to network with other truck operators, meet with transport regulators, and find out how NatRoad is supporting the industry. TechDrive 2024

April 11, 2024 – Brisbane, Qld

Following its successful launch event in Melbourne in 2023, WHG is taking TechDrive on the road again this year – hitting up Brisbane and Sydney before returning to Melbourne. The event will showcase the latest in technology and innovation, with announcements on new product releases, developments in Telematics, IoT, location data and more. Venues and speakers to be announced soon.  

Trucking Australia 2024

April 17-19, 2024
Canberra, ACT

Organised by the Australian Trucking Association and held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra, this event will feature presentations from leading industry practitioners, government agencies and regulatory bodies, to discuss and shape solutions to the trucking industry’s biggest challenges. Attendees can also look forward to the National Trucking Industry Awards, including National Professional Driver of the Year, plus a Kenworth Legends lunch, Daimler Truck Local Showcase dinner, and ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala awards dinner.

Melbourne Show ‘n’ Shine

North Coast Trucking Social Club Memorial Ceremony

South Kempsey, NSW
April 27, 2024 

The North Coast Trucking Social Club Memorial Ceremony will take place at the South Kempsey Interchange at 10am on April 27. An informal convoy will leave South Street, South Kempsey at 9am, driving through Kemspey CBD and then on to Frederickton, finishing up at the South Kempsey Interchange. Light refreshments will be provided following the ceremony, and for those interested a remembrance dinner will be held at the Kempsey Heights Bowling Club at 6pm. There is no requirement to buy tickets in advance as the bistro will be functioning for meals. 

The North Coast Trucking Social Club’s memorial wall was created in 2015 to provide an opportunity for family and friends to pay tribute to truck drivers who have passed away. If anyone would like to apply for a loved one to be added to the wall, they can do so here.  

MAY 

Sydney TruckFest

May 3–5, 2024  
Clarendon, NSW  

Held at Hawksebury Showground, Sydney TruckFest is a major celebration of the trucking industry, showcasing the latest developments in transport technology, equipment, accessories and much more. There is a dedicated section for older vehicles, but the focus is on highlighting new vehicles and advancements. Attendees can also look forward to lots of entertainment, with performers Baylou and The James Brothers already confirmed.

Sydney TruckFest has also announced that it will be hosting a Show and Shine this year, open to trucks of every size, shape, year and model. Vehicles must be assembled on site by 9am and will not be permitted to move until 5pm. Trucks can remain overnight and can be shown on either Saturday, Sunday or both however, judging is open over both days so there’s a better chance of walking away with an award if you stay for the whole weekend.

Heritage Truck Association Truck Show

May 18-19, 2024 
Rocklea, Qld 

Held at Rocklea Showgrounds, this display of veteran, vintage and heritage trucks, vintage tractors, stationary working engines and vintage cars will interest any vehicle enthusiast. Attendees can also expect trade stalls, a raffle, parades and food and drink. Entry $10 adults, children under 14 free. For further information phone Mark on 0448 111 105, or John on 0477 499 530. 

Transport Women Australia Ltd – Living the Dream Conference  

May 30-June 1, 2024
Essendon Fields, VIC 

Transport Women Australia’s 2024 Living the Dream Conference will take place at Hyatt Place, 1 English Street, Essendon Fields from May 30 to June 1. Cindy Parker (director of operations at Americold LLC) has been announced as a keynote speaker. An awards dinner will take place on June 1.  

JUNE

Alexandra Truck, Ute & Rod Show

June 9, 2024
Alexandra, VIC

The Alexandra Truck Show is back on the long weekend in June next year, with a Sunday Show ‘n’ Shine on the town’s main street, as well as live music, a Victorian woodchop tournament, exhibitions, trade displays, kids’ amusements and a raffle. Come down on Saturday for the local markets, a convoy and truck driver’s memorial service at 2pm and sponsors’ dinner at 6pm. JULY

Camp Quality Adelaide Convoy for Kids

To celebrate National Female Truckies’ Day this year, WiTA and Camp Quality are teaming up to host a day “for the little kids AND the BIG kids”. Supporters will cheer on Camp Quality’s first ever Adelaide convoy, as they travel a 40km route around Adelaide and Port Adelaide, starting and finishing at Victoria Park. The event venue will also host a free family fun day, packed with entertainment and experiences including food vans, kids’ rides, face painting, live music, and more. Attendees can check out the trucks and motorbikes on display at a Show ‘n’ Shine after the convoy. Sign up online or donate here.
