The NHVR has warned truckies of temporary changes to how trucks over 44 tonnes use the CityLink/Monash Freeway, between Batman Avenue and Punt Road.
These changes are to facilitate emergency repair works due to a police incident which caused damage to CityLink.
“At this stage, Transurban doesn’t have ETA on repairs as assessments are ongoing however crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to open the impacted sections of CityLink to all road users,” the NHVR said.
The right inbound lane on the freeway will be temporarily closed to trucks, but all other road users will have unrestricted access to the lane.
Truck drivers are asked to pay attention to overhead signage and travel in either the middle or the left lane.
Meanwhile, the Batman Avenue outbound entry ramp onto CityLink is closed for trucks weighing over 44 tonnes, including B-doubles.
The ramp is accessible to all other road users, including trucks weighing under 44 tonnes carrying placarded loads and livestock.
From the West Gate Freeway, trucks weighing over 44 tonnes will need to exit at King’s Way, turn left at King’s Way and travel along to Queen’s Road, on to Dandenong Road/Princes Highway.
Trucks will be able to access outbound entry ramps on to the Monash Freeway at Toorak Road and Warrigal Road.
All other outbound lanes on CityLink, including the Burnley Tunnel, remain open for all road users.
