Serious truck crash closes Eyre Highway

SA Police are advising truckies to park at Yalata, or other major service stations, for the rest of the day after a head-on truck crash on the Eyre Highway  in South Australia earlier this morning.

SAPOL said rescue crews were dispatched to the crash scene, about 27km west of Yalata, just before 7am on Thursday with reports of a head-on truck crash and a possible fire about 65km east of Nullarbor Station.

The Eyre Highway is currently closed in both directions and police are directing all trucks to park at Yalata or other major service stations.

Motorists are urged to be patient while crews go to the remote scene about 1000km west of Adelaide.

More to come.
