Rogers Transport opens new Port of Brisbane warehouse and depot

Rogers Transport has officially opened its new Port of Brisbane warehousing and depot facility at the Port West Industrial Estate at Lytton.

Delivered by Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd and contractor FKG, the 4.96ha site includes a 15,700sqm warehouse, 1,450sqm purpose-built workshop with fully automated truckwash, 370sqm office and two recessed loading docks.

In support of PBPL’s goal of achieving a 5-star sustainability equivalent rating on all new property developments, the new facility incorporates an EnviroConcepts water recycling system in the truckwash, which will reduce water use by over 90%, as well as a 99kW rooftop solar system, water and energy efficient fittings, and rainwater tanks for stormwater harvesting.

Holcim ECOPact concrete product was also used for the extensive concrete pavements, which significantly reduced the overall carbon impact of the build.

PBPL CEO, Neil Stephens, welcomed Rogers Transport to the Port of Brisbane community.

“We’re delighted to hand over the keys to your new home less than a year since construction commenced,” he said.

“This purpose-built facility and its proximity to the Port will help support more efficient, productive operations for Rogers Transport now and into the future.

“We’re grateful for the collaborative partnership our teams have developed throughout its design and development, and look forward to continuing to work with you.”

Rogers Transport’s general manager (finance and operations) Chantelle Rogers, said: “For Rogers Transport, this move has been a number of years in the making, and we’re all excited to see the project completed.

“The team did a great job and it was a pleasure working with FKG, Gaskin Construction Services, SPARC and the Port of Brisbane. We look forward to putting it to good use and moving forward into the future.”

Alongside Principal Contractor, FKG, the Rogers Transport development was delivered with project management by Gaskin Construction Services and architecture by SPARC.

Construction commenced in June 2023 and was completed in April 2024.

Rogers Transport has joined Port West alongside ten other global and national businesses including Bunnings, Fisher & Paykel, Steelforce and iOR, with Stage 1 of the 89-ha estate now fully committed.

Immediately adjacent to Port West Stage One, the second stage of the Port’s industrial estate is being progressively developed to meet market demand.
