Truck driver, 22, dies after crash in Gunnedah

A 22-year-old man has died after a truck carrying a large amount of aviation fuel crashed into a tree in Gunnedah, northern NSW at the weekend.

On Saturday morning, April 13, emergency services responded to reports of a truck crashing into a tree along Clifton Road.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver, 22, the sole occupant, but he died at the scene.

The truck was carrying a large volume of aviation fuel which spilled into the surrounding area, according to police.

A crime scene was established as well as a response implemented to clean the spillage.

Officers from Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation into the crash and will prepare a report for the coroner.
