The Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland has alerted truckies that there will be width restrictions for oversize loads on the Toowoomba Bypass from Sunday April 28 to Friday May 3 due to asphalt repair works.
Oversize loads will be restricted to a maximum of three metres from the Gore Highway to the Warrego Highway west interchange at Charlton.
The restriction will apply from 7pm to 5am each night, finishing at 5am on May 3.
Loads that exceed three metres will not be permitted to travel through the roadworks.
From 7pm on Sunday April 28 until 5am on Monday April 29, all eastbound traffic from the Gore Highway to Toowoomba – Cecil Plains Road will be detoured through Toowoomba.
Detour signage will be in place for the approved detour Toowoomba – Athol Road (including Anzac Avenue), Tor Street, Taylor Street, Carrington Road, Toowoomba – Cecil Plains Road as displayed in the picture below.
TMR Queensland says: “We are continuously monitoring, assessing and reviewing our roads, bridges and culverts across Queensland.
“Conditions can change quickly, particularly due to weather. Restrictions are implemented to maintain ongoing safety for all road users.
“It is your responsibility to make sure you’re using up-to-date information when you assess the suitability of your route.”
Truckies have been reminded to check the Conditions of Operation Database before they start their journey.
