Truck driver killed in rollover on Pacific Highway

A truck driver has died following a crash on the Pacific Highway at New Italy, NSW, late yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the location, approximately 46km south of Lismore, at around 4.15pm and found a Pantech truck had collided with a car, before rolling over.

Sadly, the truck driver – a 39-year-old man – died at the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the female driver of the car, aged 40, before she was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with minor injuries and shock.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway, and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

The fatal truck rollover is the second in the state in recent days.

A 67-year-old man died following a single-vehicle crash at Woodbury Road, Blighty, about 36km south-east of Deniliquin, early on Wednesday, April 24.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
