New traffic arrangements on the New England Highway westbound

Truckies are advised of upcoming traffic changes from tonight on the M1 Motorway, Pacific Highway, New England Highway and John Renshaw Drive to continue work on the M1 extension to Raymond Terrace project.

Work will be carried out over two nights to implement traffic changes and will require a lane closure of the John Renshaw Drive slip lane westbound from the New England Highway, as illustrated below.

Work will be carried out from 7pm to 5am, Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7, and is expected to be complete by 5am on Wednesday May 8, weather permitting.

The new traffic arrangements on the New England Highway westbound, including the reduction of John Renshaw Drive slip lane to one, will be in place until September 27.

All OSOM vehicles intending to travel through the site are required to call ahead on 0423 323 946 (or 0455 465 321) at least 30 minutes before reaching the site.

OSOM vehicles greater than the restricted width should expect short delays during this work.

Work will also be taking place in the following locations:

  • Pacific Highway northbound and southbound lane closures between 7pm and 5am, Monday, May 6 to Friday, May 10.
  • Lenaghans Drive alternating northbound and southbound lane and shoulder closure between 7am and 5pm, Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7.
  • M1 Pacific Motorway northbound and southbound lane closure and speed reduction to 40km between 7pm and 5am, Wednesday, May 8 to Friday, May 10.
  • New England Highway Tarro offramp exit eastbound only will be closed from 7pm Monday, May 6 to 5am Tuesday, May 7. Eastbound motorists will be directed to continue on the New England Highway to Hexham Bridge, where they can turn under the bridge and return along the highway westbound to the Anderson Drive exit to Tarro, as illustrated in the map below.

Truckies are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
