Former truckie raises over $24,000 for MND

When long-time truckie Warren ‘Woz’ Acott was diagnosed with MND, he decided he wanted to try and make a difference, launching his Mow Down MND campaign.

He set off on a gruelling 11-day, 772-kilometre trip from Victoria to Canberra on his ride-on mower in a bid to try and make MND a notifiable disease.

A petition was launched to make MND a notifiable disease and when he arrived on the lawns of parliament, he was able to meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Now that the campaign has come to an end, Mow Down MND has revealed it was able to collect a total of 13,845 signatures (6610 on the paper petition and 7235 on the e-petition).

Mow Down MND also raised $17,098 for MND Australia and $7577 for MND Victoria.
