Ainsleigh Thomas and Ashley Belteky have been announced as the two finalists for Transport Women Australia Limited’s (TWAL) inaugural Young Gunnette Award.
The new annual Cummins-sponsored prize recognises the achievements of “up-and-coming” females in the transport and logistics industry.
The winner will be announced at the TWAL “Living the Dream” Conference Awards dinner on June 1 at the Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields.
Thomas is the NSW/ACT linehaul manager at StarTrack, and Belteky is the specialist – apprentice pathways at Kinetic.
“The two finalists are individuals who have demonstrated leadership within the industry and who are bringing significant and positive change to the industry as well as inspiring others with their advocacy for the industry,” said the TWAL in a media release announcing the finalists.
“All the nominations were outstanding and difficult choices had to be made to arrive at two finalists and then only one winner.”
The award prize will provide the recipient with training to assist them in their careers in transport and their roles within any organisations that they may represent as they progress throughout their professional lives, said TWAL.
“We encourage everyone who can, to nominate their outstanding young women for the 2025 Young Gunnette Award.
“We congratulate the other nominees and encourage them to renominate in 2025 if they are eligible to do so. If you have any queries about this award or the “Living the Dream” Conference, please contact chair@transportwomen.com.au or call 0417422319.”
