New red light speed camera for Hume Highway

Following a spate of crashes at this site, a new red light speed camera will be installed on the Hume Highway, with changed traffic conditions in place while installation works are carried out.

The camera will be placed at the intersection of Hume Highway and Cutler Road in Cabramatta, to monitor north-east bound traffic.

This follows 15 crashes, including five with serious injuries, at the site between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2022.

Installation works will take place over ten day shifts and 14 night shifts from 7am to 5pm and 8pm to 5am six days a week (excluding Saturdays) between May 26 and June 26, weather permitting.

  1. So, 15 Crashes in 5 years, and 5 serious injuries..= 3 per year over 5 years, + 1 serious per year over 5 years…and that’s a spate of accidents . Year right..I don’t think so..I wonder how many vehicles passed through that intersection over those 15 years..talk about making mountains out of mole hills..more like catching out more unsuspecting drivers, and hitting them again in the hip pocket..I guess the Gov’t has got to recoup all those tax paybacks from somewhere!

  2. Spot on revenue, raising it’s got nothing to do with the road safety all about revenue for a pack of bloody liars criminal governments criminal courts I just want your money they want to screw you to the ground. It’s not about road safety it’s bullshit.
