Driver killed in crash between two B-doubles on Hume Highway

A 61-year-old truck driver has died after two B-doubles collided on the Hume Highway near Holbrook, NSW, yesterday.

The other driver, aged 44, was not injured in the crash, and was taken to Culcairn Hospital for mandatory testing, report NSW Police.

NSW Police said emergency services were called to the site near Little Billabong Road, Little Billabong, just before 6pm. Police said the 61-year-old died at the scene.

The highway was closed to southbound traffic for 14 hours, with vehicles diverted around Tumbarumba Road and Little Billabong Road.

It reopened just before 8am today.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash ongoing.

As inquiries continue, anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
