Transport Women Australia Ltd – Living the Dream Conference

Transport Women Australia’s 2024 Living the Dream Conference will take place at Hyatt Place, 1 English Street, Essendon Fields from May 30 to June 1. It kicks off with a pre-conference tour of Paccar, which includes lunch, and a concurrent session with Healthy Heads in Truck and Sheds. Cindy Parker (director of operations at Americold LLC) has been announced as a keynote speaker. Ellen Voie, founder of Women in Trucking from Wisconsin, will also be speaking at the event. An awards dinner will take place on June 1.

Mullewa Truck Muster

The inaugural Mullewa Truck Muster is set to take place as part of the Mullewa Muster & Rodeo, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Prizes will be awarded across 11 categories, from Best Paint Job to Best Rigid. Truck aficionados, transport companies and owner-drivers are encouraged to enter their favourite rigs as a way to promote local businesses and show off the best the Midwest has to offer.
Long weekend at Gundagai

Organised by the Australian Road Transport Heritage Centre, the Long Weekend at Gundagai boasts a host of exciting events across two days. Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal, auction and raffles at Gundagai Showgrounds on Saturday. Then on Sunday, recover with a special breakfast before a convoy through Sylvia’s Gap, departing from the showgrounds and returning via Tumut for a lunch BBQ. The Alexandra Truck Show is back on the long weekend in June this year, with a Sunday Show ‘n’ Shine on the town’s main street, as well as live music, a Victorian woodchop tournament, exhibitions, trade displays, kids’ amusements and a raffle. SA Truck and Ute Show

Once a year, the main street of Mannum is closed off as trucks of all sizes roll in for the SA Truck and Ute Show. Many of the entrants come from over the border and numerous entry categories are available. The trucking extravaganza will also feature trade stalls, food, kids’ entertainment, live music and more. Admission is $10 for adults, free for under 16s and $5 for Mannum residents who present with ID on the day.

Camp Quality Adelaide Convoy for Kids

To celebrate National Female Truckies’ Day this year, WiTA and Camp Quality are teaming up to host a day “for the little kids AND the BIG kids”. Supporters will cheer on Camp Quality’s first ever Adelaide convoy, as they travel a 40km route around Adelaide and Port Adelaide, starting and finishing at Victoria Park. The event venue will also host a free family fun day, packed with entertainment and experiences including food vans, kids’ rides, face painting, live music, and more. Attendees can check out the trucks and motorbikes on display at a Show ‘n’ Shine after the convoy. Sign up online or donate here.

One of the biggest truck shows in the southern hemisphere, the Casino Truck Show is back – with over 600 trucks expected from all over Australia. Truck registrations ($30 each) will take place from 6am to 9.45am. The popular street parade is at 10am, and award presentations will take place at 3pm, with over 70 trophies up for grabs. Entertainment will include Mossy Rocks and the Tony Q Band, who will be rocking out tunes from two separate stages. There will also be plenty of kid-friendly activities such as amusement rides and face painting, and a range of exhibitors showcasing industry-related products and services. Plus J&J Rodeo will put on a spectacular Bull Ride under the roof of the new arena at the Casino Showground and Racecourse. Australian Festival of Transport

The Australian Festival of Transport is back! Held at the Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs, the induction ceremony for the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame will be held on August 24, honouring transport heroes who have been in the industry for at least 25 years. Attendees at the festival can also look forward to welcome drinks, a breakfast hosted by Transport Women Australia Limited, and a museum open day on August 25 with mini train rides.
