There are some very exciting events coming up in the trucking calendar! Check out the highlights below.

JUNE

Outback Way Forum
June 30 – July 1 
Canberra 

The Outback Way, which connects Cairns and Perth through Alice Springs, is currently being sealed with the support of $1.2b in federal government funding, and is expected to be completed by 2032. The Outback Highway Development Council Inc is inviting representatives from the road transport industry, business and government to assemble in Canberra to discuss the potential benefits of the highway, with many infrastructure, safety and community considerations to be planned, developed and delivered. Have your say and help to develop a roadmap for the future of the highway.  

JULY

Road Freight Forum
July 3, 2024
Toowoomba, QLD 

The QTA is running a series of Road Freight Forums, driving regional solutions at various locations across Queensland.  Topics will include connecting the freight network, opening up road access and navigating workable solutions. The forums will also include industry-led conversations with TMR District Representatives and the NHVR. 

Camp Quality Adelaide Convoy for Kids
July 6, 2023
Victoria Park, Adelaide, SA  

To celebrate National Female Truckies’ Day this year, Women in Trucking Australia and Camp Quality are teaming up to host a day “for the little kids AND the BIG kids”. Supporters will cheer on Camp Quality’s first ever Adelaide convoy, as they travel a 40km route around Adelaide and Port Adelaide, starting and finishing at Victoria Park. The event venue will also host a free family fun day, packed with entertainment and experiences including food vans, kids’ rides, face painting, live music, and more. Attendees can check out the trucks and motorbikes on display at a Show ‘n’ Shine after the convoy. Sign up online or donate here.

WiTA has also organised a lunch and awards ceremony celebrating women in transport, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm in the Victoria Park Social Club. See here for more information.

AUGUST

Casino Truck Show
August 3, 2024
Casino, NSW 

One of the biggest truck shows in the southern hemisphere, the Casino Truck Show is back  with over 600 trucks expected from all over Australia. Truck registrations ($30 each) will take place from 6am to 9.45amThe popular street parade is at 10am, and award presentations will take place at 3pm, with over 70 trophies up for grabs. Entertainment will include Mossy Rocks and the Tony Q Band, who will be rocking out tunes from two separate stages. There will also be plenty of kid-friendly activities such as amusement rides and face painting, and a range of exhibitors showcasing industry-related products and services. Plus J&J Rodeo will put on a spectacular Bull Ride under the roof of the new arena at the Casino Showground and Racecourse. For more info email info@casinotruckshow.com.au or Darren Goodwin at dtgoodwin1@yahoo.com.au or phone (02) 6660 0300.  

TechDrive 2024

Following its successful launch event in Melbourne in 2023, WHG is taking TechDrive on the road again this year. The event will showcase the latest in technology and innovation, with announcements on new product releases, developments in Telematics, IoT, location data and more. Lowood Truck Show
August 17, 2024
Lowood, Qld

Held at the Lowood Showgrounds in Queensland, this local show features a display of trucks, bikes and cars. A vehicle parade will proceed through Main St. Lowood at 11am. Other attractions on the day include kids’ entertainment, trade stands, live music and food and drink. Entry is free, with donations for charity welcome. Australian Festival of Transport
August 22-25 
Alice Springs, NT 

The Australian Festival of Transport is back! Held at the Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs, the induction ceremony for the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame will be held on August 24, honouring transport heroes who have been in the industry for at least 25 years. Attendees at the festival can also look forward to welcome drinks, a breakfast hosted by Transport Women Australia Limited, and a museum open day on August 25 with mini train rides.

Thallon Truck Pull

The main attraction at this event is the Team Truck Pull competition, where a team of six people pull a prime mover over 25 metres. The winner is the fastest team! American Iron Echuca Truck Display
September 7-8, 2024
Echuca Rotary Park, VIC

All makes and models of trucks are welcome at the American Iron Echuca Truck Display.  

Attendees can look forward to modified tractor/mini tractor pull demonstrations, on-site camping and catering, club merchandise and trade stalls, as well as live music by Van-yt. 

MegaTrans
September 18 -19, 2024
Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, VIC

Leaders from across the supply chain will gather in Melbourne to discuss the future of the logistics industry at MegaTrans, an integrated trade expo and conference reserved for companies offering advanced technologies and services. Experts from across Australia will gather to discuss the issues that are shaping the future of the sustainable supply chain, including workplace diversity and real estate planning.  

Clarendon Classic Machinery Rally
September 21-22 
Clarendon, NSW 

Held at the Hawkesbury Showgrounds on Racecourse Road in Clarendon over two days, this event offers something for everyone. Check out some classic rigs at the Kenworth Klassic Truck Show, hop on an old double decker bus to Richmond Station, or explore the displays of vintage machinery, including stationery engines, tractors, steam engines, models and more. Entry for the general public is from 9am to 4pm Saturday, and 8am to 3pm Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Exhibitors enjoy free admission, complimentary camping, a welcome BBQ on Friday night for a gold coin donation, and a two-course rally dinner on the Saturday evening.

Gold Coast Truck Show
September 29, 2024
Mudgeeraba Showgrounds, Worongary, QLD 

The Gold Coast Truck Show combines with the GC Car & Bike Show to form three exhibitions in one at Mudgeeraba Showgrounds (exit 77 off the M1). All trucks enter Gate 3 at the back gate of the Showgrounds on Worongary Rd, Worongary from 6:30am Sunday September 29, 2024. Trophy presentations from 12.45pm centre stage.

OCTOBER

Wauchope Yesteryear Truck & Machinery Show 2024
October 4-7, 2024
Wauchope Showground, NSW 

Traditionally held in July, this year’s Wauchope Yesteryear Truck & Machinery Show has been moved to October – with plans for a bigger and better event. Vintage and modern trucks and tractors will be on display, with a tractor run on October 4 and a drive through Wauchope with a limited number of trucks and tractors on October 4 and 5. Unlike previous years, there will not be a Saturday night dinner, but the organising committee plan to have additional food outlets and a bar in operation to cater for the Saturday night meal. 

Boort Truck Show

NOVEMBER

Goulburn Convoy for Kids
November 9, 2024
Goulburn, NSW

The annual Goulburn Convoy for Kids and carnival day will take place on November 9 this year, with vehicles departing at 10am sharp from Goulburn Gateway service station (North Goulburn) and ending up at Goulburn Racetrack (Braidwood Road). Truck entry is $60, which includes a showbag for each truck. This year, cars and utes are also welcome to join the convoy. Entry for cars/utes is $60 with a showbag or $20 without.
