No access to section of Bruce Highway this weekend

A section of the Bruce Highway in Queensland will be closed to all traffic for much of the day this Sunday July 28, due to the annual Childers Festival.

Truck drivers should be aware that they will not be able to access the Bruce Highway (Churchill Street) between Isis Highway intersection and Taylor Street intersection at Childers from 5am to 8pm.

During this time, southbound traffic will be diverted via Broadhurst, Macrossan and Stewart Streets.

Northbound traffic will detour via Taylor Street, Thompson Road and Broadhurst Street.

Bundaberg Regional Council has also informed motorists of the following additional closures this week:

• The eastern section of Crescent Street carpark is closed from now to 6pm Sunday July 28
• RV Stopover Areas in Crescent Street is closed from now to 6pm Sunday July 28
• Crescent Street will be closed from 6am on Saturday July 27 to 5.30pm Sunday July 28
• Bruce Highway/Churchill Street service lanes between Stewart/Lord Streets to Broadhurst Street (Isis Highway) will be closed from 5.30am to 5.30pm on Sunday July 28
• A section of Lord Street from Hinkler Street to Churchill Street will operate as a one-way from 5.30am to 5.30pm on Sunday July 28
