A truck driver has shared dash cam footage of a dangerous near miss that happened on her way from Brisbane to Sydney this week.
Sonja White “couldn’t stop shaking” after a fellow truckie cut her off, pushing her to the side of the road just before the Grafton exit.
She said: “His A-trailer was level with my windscreen and the B-trailer hadn’t passed yet.
“He backed off when he came on my side of the road, then moved back over before speeding up again.
“Then he indicated when his A-trailer was level with me, and just moved over before swinging it back then just took off like nothing happened.”
White said she “lit up like a Christmas tree” to get the driver’s attention, which is when he realised what he had done.
“I’m sick of things like this happening on the road,” she said.
She called the police, who told her they would stop the driver at Coffs Harbour, however she said they did “nothing” to penalise him.
“Where’s the justification in this?” she asked. “What’s the point of even having police around?”
“If he was able to catch up and overtake, then he has the speed.
“When trucks report something, they don’t care, but when a truck is involved in an accident, it’s always the truck’s fault.”
