Popular truckie James Cauchi has won the major driver prize at the 2024 Road Freight NSW Awards announced at the association’s annual conference in Sydney last week.
The long-time JATEC Transport staffer beat some stiff competition for the NSW Professional Driver of the Year trophy.
“James was nominated for his outstanding professionalism and dedication to excellence in the logistics industry,” said JATEC Transport in a recent Facebook post.
“With a glowing driving record and over two decades of experience, James is known for his friendly demeanor, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.
“James is also a champion for inclusivity, always ready to train new staff and advocate for fairness.”
The other winners were:
NSW Transport Woman of the Year: Di Caldwell-Smith, Transport Women Australia Ltd.
NSW Best Safety Culture: Carter Heavy Haulage and Transport.
Best Industry Newcomer: Billie-Jean Poihipi, Eather Group.
Outstanding Contribution to the NSW Trucking Industry: Paul Downey, MEDLOG Transport & Logistics.
Emerging Leader: Noah Hannah, Hannah’s Haulage.
CEO Award: CSR Limited Central Transport Hub Team.
