A Queensland truck driver and mum of four has thanked some of her fellow truckies for making her son’s day.
Chantelle Drew, who lives in Bell, wanted to reach out to share her gratitude to the truckies that travel the Bunya Highway from Kingaroy to Dalby.
Drew said she and her kids will often gesture for passing truckies to honk their horns while the family is waiting for the school bus to arrive in the mornings.
“A lot of the drivers do it,” she said. “My ten-year-old son Nicholas has a disability, and it makes his day.
“I just want to thank truckies for putting a smile on their little faces.”
Drew added that she also tries to honk the horn for children whenever she’s behind the wheel.
“I do it when I’m driving the truck and see children do the hand pump,” she said.
“I hear their little giggles and screams of excitement and it makes me proud.”
