The NHVR has warned truckies travelling through Melton, Victoria in the coming weeks that they may be affected by upgrade works happening at the intersection of High Street and Coburns Road.
VicRoads is undertaking works to replace the existing roundabout with new traffic lights, to make it “safer and easier” to travel through the intersection.
The first stage of major construction will begin at 8pm this Sunday August 11, with crews on-site between 7am and 5pm Mondays to Saturdays.
The eastern side of high street will be closed to traffic between Coburns Road and High Street Service Road during this time.
From 8pm on Sunday August 11, there will be a heavy vehicle detour via the Western Freeway at the Melton Highway, south of Coburns Road.
The NHVR has asked truck drivers to plan their journeys in advance and stay up to date with the latest traffic information.
