An interstate truckie has thanked police in Bourke, New South Wales for helping her out when she ran into a bit of trouble with her truck recently.
Kylie Robinson’s rig broke down in the outback town and she found herself stranded and covered in grease and dirt from trying to figure out the problem.
Desperate for a shower, she asked a nearby motel if she could use one of theirs – but she claims they tried to charge her $140 for the privilege.
With no taxi or Uber services available, she had to turn to the police for help.
“The local boys in blue happily picked me up and ran me to the shower at Liberty Fuels on Anson Street,” she said.
“I had a code to use the shower there.
“The police then picked me back up and dropped me back to the truck. Legends!”
Robinson, who is based in Brisbane, wanted to thank the police because you so often hear negative stories about them.
“Police always get a bad rap, and they’re not always bad,” she added.
Please name the motel. They don’t deserve any business from the transport industry.
