Daimler Truck Australia Pacific has issued a recall notice 49 Fuso Shoguns due to an issue with the propeller shaft balance weight.
All affected models are manufactured in 2024.
The recall notice said: “The propeller shaft balance weight may not have been welded to the required specifications and could detach. If this occurs, it may lead to vibration in the propeller shaft, causing abnormal noise and a loss of motive power whilst driving.
“A loss of motive power and/or parts detaching from the vehicle whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.”
Owners of affected vehicles are advised to contact their nearest authorised Daimler commercial vehicle dealership to schedule an appointment to replace the propeller shaft with a modified tandem propeller shaft, free of charge.
