Daimler Truck Australia Pacific has released details of the Fuso Canter’s new-look exterior and upgraded multimedia unit.
The Canter now features a new exterior design with LED headlights, which are 30 per cent brighter. There are also LED turn lamps on the lower door sections.
It also has a new bumper and a fresh grille that is capped with a black strip featuring the Fuso badge. This styling element is referred to as the Black Belt design that matches the recently introduced new generation all-electric eCanter.
Fuso has left the engine and transmissions of the Canter range largely alone, apart from some minor internal revisions and a slightly larger sump on select models. The contemporary interior design remains unchanged.
Taking on customer feedback, there’s been an important upgrade of the 8-inch multimedia media unit, with wireless Apple and Android connectivity now added, removing any need for cables and adaptors.
The multimedia unit has upgraded processing and memory performance and integrated accessory capabilities. It displays the footage from the reversing camera that comes standard with all Canter models, while footage from up to five additional cameras can also be shown on the screen.
Daimler Truck Australia Pacific sales, marketing and operations vice president, Andrew Assimo, said: “The Fuso Canter has long represented a fantastic business case thanks to its class-leading payload and 30,000km service intervals,” he said.
“This upgrade really adds to its appeal and we know the new features will be welcomed by our customers.”
All Canter models, including the FG 4×4 Canter, have received the upgrades that come with the new facelift.
Fuso was the first brand to introduce Advanced Emergency Braking System – or AEBS – to the light truck range back in 2019 and this system, along with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), is standard on all Canters except for the off-road oriented 4×4.
