Truckies are advised of changed overnight traffic conditions from this week at the Pacific Highway-Oxley Highway Interchange northbound exit ramp at Port Macquarie, to carry out safety improvement work.
From Sunday, November 10, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) will carry out work, using the existing road formation to increase the capacity of the northbound exit ramp from one to two lanes between the 60 km/h sign to the donut.
The northbound exit ramp of the Pacific Highway/Oxley Highway Interchange will be closed during each phase. To minimise impact to drivers, work will be carried out at night from 8pm to 5am.
A detour will be in place, with truckies advised to use the Sancrox Road exit from the Pacific Highway at Fernbank Creek. Drivers should allow up to 10 minutes extra travel time during the work.
B-doubles and oversize overmass vehicles are able to use the detour to access Port Macquarie or the Oxley Highway as it is suitable and acceptable, said TfNSW
“Please note vehicles travelling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator,” added TfNSW.
Workers will be back on site to carry out the remainder of the work from Sunday, November 24, to Friday, December 6, weather permitting.
Work will include vegetation clearing, removal of adjacent concrete and kerb, minor asphalt work, resealing and line marking, and signage installation.
