News, Queensland, Road upgrades

Upcoming repairs to Palmerston Highway

There will be upcoming changed traffic conditions to the Palmerston Highway, as resurfacing works are carried out.

Repairs have been carried out across Far North Queensland as a result of Tropical Cyclone Jasper in December 2023, which caused severe damage to the road network, following record rainfall.

Upgrade works will be carried out on Palmerston Highway, between Innisfail to Millaa Millaa from November 22 to December 12, with crews onsite between 6am and 6pm.

Changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, and single lane operation while the works are carried out.

Intermittent full closures of the road will be required at times to carry out the works. Road users can expect delays of up to 15-minute periods during the full closures.
