Truckies and all motorists are being advised to avoid the Bruce Highway just south of Gin Gin after a fatal crash there earlier today.

Police said the driver of the car, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene near Redhill Farms.

Two men, the car’s passengers, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The male driver of the truck involved was reported to be shaken up by the ordeal but not physically injured.

The Bruce was still closed in both directions at 7.30am and long delays are expected.

Heavy vehicles are being diverted along the Isis Highway to Bundaberg and then onto the Bundaberg-Gin Gin Road and vis versa.

Light vehicles are using local diversion via Red Hill Farms Road to Skyring Reserve Road and vis versa.

One witness said the crash involved a car and a wide load transporter, understood to be under police escort.

“It was a car that went under a house being moved by a truck. There was at least three escorts in front of the truck, including two police cars so it was well advised to oncoming traffic,’’ one person posted on social media.
