Volvo Group Australia has recalled UD Quons manufactured in 2022 due to a manufacturing defect.
The recall affects all variants within this model, with a total of 53 trucks impacted.
According to the recall notice, the propeller shaft on these vehicles may not have been welded to the required specifications.
“As a result, the propeller shaft may break at the welding point, resulting in a loss of motive power whilst driving,” said the notice.
“A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred authorised Volvo Group dealership to schedule an appointment to have the works carried out, free of charge.
