Truck drivers have been warned of changed traffic conditions on the New England Highway south of Tenterfield from next week.
Starting on Tuesday January 21, pavement rehabilitation work will be carried out between Derby Street and Saddlers Road from 7am to 6pm on weekdays.
Single lane, alternating traffic flow arrangements will be required, and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and road users.
Outside of work hours, two-lane, two-way traffic flow arrangements will be in place with a reduced speed limit of 60km/h.
Oversize and overmass (OSOM) vehicles more than four metres wide intending to travel through the site should call the project team on 0430 943 119 prior to travel.
OSOM vehicles may also use UHF21 to communicate with the team.
All drivers are advised to allow up to ten minutes extra travel time, drive to traffic conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
The work is expected to be completed by late March, weather permitting.
A spokesperson for Transport for NSW said: “Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
