Volvo Group Australia has issued a recall notice due to a manufacturing defect within the battery isolation switch sourced from an external supplier that could be susceptible to water ingress.
There are 179 affected units in the year range 2023-25.
The models impacted are FH, FMX, ANA, CLX and CMH in the following variants: ANA 64TA3P 1, ANA 64TA3P 2, CLX 64T 6P 4 & CMH 64T 3PF2, FH 64T 3A, FH 64T 6A, FH 84RF 6A, FH 84TF 6A, FM 64R 3A, FM 64T 1A, FM 64T 3A, FM 84RF 1A, FM 84RF 3A, FMX 64R 1A, FMX 64T 3A, FMX 84RF 1A and FMX 84RF 1L.
An unexpected loss of power to the complete vehicle at any time without warning resulting in loss of crucial vehicle electrical and safety systems.
Volvo Group Australia advises its customers that the trucks should immediately be driven back to a safe location and await recall instructions.
The trucks can be driven to the nearest authorised workshop for repairs. Driving must only be done during daylight, and the trucks should not be used to transport cargo under any circumstances, the notice warned.
