Darwin Convention Centre will be the place to be on Saturday, July 5, when Women in Trucking Australia (WiTA) holds its 2025 Awards Dinner.
The event, sponsored by bp and Big Rigs, will start at 5pm to 6.30pm with an Industry Partner Expo, followed by an awards dinner to celebrate and recognise women making their careers in the transport industry.
WiTA CEO Lyndal Denny said the awards are a chance to shine a spotlight on an important part of the industry.
“This Awards Dinner is not just about recognition; it’s about galvanising our community and showcasing the incredible impact women are making in trucking,” Lyndal said.
“With the sponsors’ invaluable support, we’re driving change and inspiring the next generation of female drivers.”
The 2025 WiTA bp Toots awards up for grabs include:
- Female Driver of the Year
- Diversity and Inclusion Award
- Safety Award
- Von Fletcher Award
- Young Driver of the Year Award
- Billirrawarra 1,000,000km Award
Women in Trucking Australia (WiTA) offers training programs, mentorship and advocacy to its members with a mission of seeing more women become involved in the transport industry.
“With the support of bp our major sponsor and Big Rigs this event will shine a spotlight on the achievements of Australia’s female truck drivers and supporters of gender equality in trucking,” WiTA’s Awards program states.
“The night will also serve to reinforce WiTA’s commitment to promoting truck driving as a rewarding career for women, offering vital funding for training via the NHVR, mentorship opportunities, and advocating for female drivers at both industry and government levels.
“WiTA’s mission has never been more critical. As Australia faces a growing shortage of skilled truck drivers, the organisation continues to break barriers and highlight the untapped potential of female drivers in the industry.
The awards evening will include keynote addresses from industry leaders and inspirational women and networking opportunities for drivers, industry professionals and supporters.
