Top quality equipment under the hammer as Queensland business undergoes fleet replacement sale

Well maintained Kenworth C509s and Western Star 4800s are among 76 items up for grabs in an online auction being held this month.

Prime mover and trailer hire company Compliant Asset Rental has teamed up with Pickles Auctions to sell range of gear as part of a planned fleet renewal program.

Operating out of Toowoomba and Roma, Compliant Asset Rental was started in 2017 by Scott Pengelly – who has also owned and operated Pengelly Trucks and Trailers for over 35 years.

The business started with just four used prime movers and today its fleet boasts approximately 430 trucks and trailers, with its biggest client base being in the gas and civil construction space.

“Our main success is based on our ability to supply good, late model equipment,” said Matt Cruikshank, General Manager at Compliant Asset Rental. “The fleet is well maintained and meets the very strict safety and compliance standards set out by the gas industry.”

For Compliant Asset Rental, this is the first time it’s been involved in a replacement sale of this volume. “That’s because we’re relatively new to the rental space. We’re working on having a five to seven year replacement program, hence why we have all of this great equipment available,” Matt added.

Commenting on partnering with Pickles, Matt added, “Pickles is a main player in the online auction space and in my opinion has the best exposure nationally.

“Scott Pengelly has been buying through Pickles for 30 odd years so this is a logical progression. He has had an ongoing relationship with Pickles, which offers a bit of comfort when you’re on other side of the fence.”

The assets will be up for sale in a timed online auction, starting on Tuesday June 24 at 11am AEST and concluding on Thursday June 26 at 6:30pm AEST.

All assets are presented in work ready condition, so buyers can purchase with confidence. All assets are built with all features to suit and comply with almost any site or job requirement. The trucks and trailers up for grabs are manufactured by leading industry players.

Among the most sought after auction items in this sale are:

  • Two 2015 Kenworth C509 day cabs
  • Four Western Star 4800 day cabs, ranging from 2015 to 2018 models
  • A brand new unused Hino 4×4 dual cab truck
  • Tristar quad sets of side tippers

“This will be the auction event of the year in Queensland,” said Charlie Scott, Sales Executive – Industrial at Pickles Auctions.

“Interest in the equipment so far has exceeded expectations and will only continue to grow as the marketing is pushed out closer to the auction.

“We haven’t seen a transport auction of this quality in Queensland for many years.”
