A truck driver got the fright of her life last night, when a motorist came speeding along the wrong side of the road, just as she was about to change lanes.
The incident occurred on the on Pacific Highway at about 10.30pm last night, just north of New Italy, New South Wales, while Sonja White was travelling southbound.
Recalling the incident, she said, “When a car is heading northbound on the southbound side without head lights on – I nearly shit myself!
“It’s a scary feeling when you’re just about to change lanes because you think the truck in front of you is going to pull over and you do the right thing.
“Luckily I was watching the truck in front because we didn’t know about the car. I was just about to go onto the other side of the road to go around the truck. That’s when I noticed the 4×4 on my side of the road, going the wrong way.
She continued, “It literally scared the crap out of me. After he went past, he crashed into a bridge, only hurting himself.
“That’s one hell of a close call.”
