The Northern Territory Department of Logistics and Infrastructure says it is changing the current speed limits on a section of the Stuart Highway and Channel Island Road “as per national best practice”.
From Tuesday July 1, 2025, the speed limit on the Stuart Highway from the section fronting Emerald Springs roadhouse will increase from 80km/h to 100km/h.
On Channel Island Road, there will be a new speed limit of 80 km/h between Chung Wah Terrace and Wickham Point Road; and a new speed limit of 90 km/h between Wickham Point Road and Channel Island Bridge.
