The Bruce Highway at Owanyilla is expected to be closed for some time today after a fuel tanker fire there earlier this morning.
Queensland Ambulance Service said a man in his 30s was assessed with minor injuries and taken to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
No structures or other vehicles were in danger, and the fire was able to be contained to the truck.

The PSPA was declared at 2.22am, with an exclusion zone of 3km around the Owanyilla incident between Tairo and Maryborough on the Fraser Coast.
Just after 5am, the emergency declaration was revoked, but the highway remains closed in both directions, with diversions in place.
Police said it was too early to tell what had caused the 48,000 litres of fuel to ignite.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman told The Courier Mail it took around two hours to get the fire “under control”, with one fire and rescue crew still on scene after 6am.
Both fuel tanks were “completely burnt out”, and fuel was contained in parts of the trailer, which appeared to contribute to the severity of the fire.
