Trailer curtains slashed and liquor stolen

A Paramount Freightlines truck carrying liquor was broken into yesterday (Monday September 22), with part of its load stolen.

The incident occurred on Magnesium Drive at Crestmead, Queensland.

Paramount Freightlines shared on socials this morning, “Our trailers were slashed and broken into, with a large amount of liquor stolen. The driver was parked up a few hours before his timeslot.”

The operator says it has reviewed footage and a white Volkswagon Polo can be seen parked near the truck.

“We’re spreading some awareness, also in the hope there may have been someone around who potentially may have seen something or may know a business in the area with clearer footage,” the company said.

“We all know these areas are notorious for this kind of stuff happening, however drivers should be able to sleep anywhere without property being damaged and product being stolen. I’ve spoken to multiple other carriers in the last 24 hours and the same thing has happened to them.”

The matter has been reported to Queensland Police.
