Queensland trailer builder opens second manufacturing site

FWR Australia has expanded its operations with the opening of its second manufacturing facility in Queensland.

Started in 2013, as a one-man operation, FWR has experienced great growth over the past 12 years – with its heavy haulage trailers becoming known for their durability and precision.

FWR’s 12,000 square metre facility in Larapinta, Brisbane, has the capacity to build over 500 trailers each year – complete with cutting-edge equipment like dual lift cranes, spray booths, and CNC machines.

Now the brand has taken its capabilities another step further, with the opening of the new facility at 1223 Boundary Road, Wacol.

In announcing the opening of the Wacol site on September 8, FWR said, “FWR’s story has always been about recognising opportunities and acting on them.”

The new Wacol facility will be a dedicated site for producing FWR’s smaller product lines including tag trailers, dog trailers and more.

“This expansion allows our flagship Larapinta facility to focus entirely on heavy haulage trailers, maximising efficiency and increasing capacity across both operations. The result will be faster turnaround times, greater production capability and the flexibility to take on more complex builds,” said FWR.

“By splitting operations between two facilities, FWR is better positioned than ever to meet the demands of a growing customer base, while staying true to the values that built our reputation: communication, short lead times and a cost-effective Australian made transport solution.”
