Lane closures and reduced speed limits will soon be in place for slope remediation works on the Gwydir Highway at Cangai and Jackadgery.
Work on the first slope at Cangai will start on Monday October 13 and will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays, and 8am to 5pm on Saturday if required, and is expected to be completed by October 31, weather permitting.
Work on the second slope at Jackadgery will start on Monday November 3 and be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays, and 8am to 5pm on Saturday if required, and is expected to be completed by 15 November, weather permitting.
Single lane, alternating traffic flow arrangements and a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h will be in place during work hours only, for the safety of workers and motorists.
Oversize and overmass (OSOM) vehicles more than 3.5 metres wide intending to travel through the work sites will need to call the project team on 0409 293 187 at least 24 hours prior to travel.
Transport for NSW says drivers should allow up to five minutes’ extra travel time, drive to traffic conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
