Over-height truck intercepted in Queensland

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has shared images of a truck that was recently intercepted in Queensland.

With a car protruding from the top, the vehicle was clearly over-height, with load restraint issues also identified.

“This vehicle was not only found to be over-height but had poor load restraint in place with crushed cars, debris (steel, glass) protruding over the bin edges,” said the NHVR.

“Over-height trucks pose a serious risk to safety causing significant traffic delays, impact on rail services, and damage to tunnels, bridges or other infrastructure.

“A reminder that taking the extra time to check and secure your load before departure is critical to ensuring no loss of load and removing additional hazards for all road users.”
