Driver in stable condition after being trapped under truck on Warrego

A driver who was trapped under a truck on the side of the Warrego Highway in Queensland is in a stable condition in the Toowoomba Hospital.

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight said an aeromedical crew airlifted the man to hospital after being trapped under a 10-tonne truck in the Southern Downs on Friday afternoon (November 7).

It is believed that the man, who is in his 30s, was changing a tyre at the Dogwood Creek rest stop when the incident occurred.

The chopper was tasked at 1.26pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed on an oval.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the man for a significant lower leg injury.

Despite the serious injury, a spokeswoman for LifeFlight said the man was now in a stable condition.
