Asphalt pavement maintenance works are taking place this week on a section of the Bruce Highway, with changed traffic conditions in place for the duration of the works.
This is occurring on the Bruce Highway between Hunter Street and Port Road (Ayr to Townsville) – from Sunday November 9 through to Thursday November 13, between 7pm and 5am.
Changed traffic conditions during the works will include single lane closures and moderate delays and speed restrictions.
Traffic controllers will be onsite during active construction hours to direct traffic, with two-way traffic maintained throughout the work area out of work hours.
Once maintenance works are completed, traffic management signs will remain in place until all works including line marking, pavement markers and signs are reinstated.
Advanced warning signs will also be in place on approach to the work area, notifying motorists of the changed conditions.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware in advance of the changed traffic conditions.
