Popular roadhouse welcomes truckies for a meal and company on Christmas day

While most people spend Christmas day with their loved ones, many truck drivers are forced to spend it alone. That’s why this popular roadhouse is welcoming truckies with open arms this Christmas.

The Threeways Roadhouse in the Northern Territory has been owned by Nigel and Anne Stevens for over 15 years. It’s located at the junction of the Stuart and Barkly Highways in Warumungu – around 24 kilometres from Tennant Creek – and sees anywhere from 40 to 80 trucks stop by each day.

Known for their incredible hospitality, Nigel and Anne are no strangers to giving back to the truckies who support their business – even going as far as hosting free barbeques in the past for truckies stranded by floods.

Now with Christmas fast approaching, they’re doing their bit to ensure truckies travelling through the area aren’t alone this Christmas.

Although it closes to the public on Christmas day, Nigel and Anne are inviting truck drivers to stop on by for a meal and some great company.

“As most people know Christmas day we close,” said Nigel. “Any truck driver who is at a loose end, on your own Christmas day, call in, beverages, food, and some loose company, all on us. All truckies welcome.”
