Victorian truck body and trailer manufacturer AustruckX has designed an advanced all-aluminium curtainsider truck body, the AXCS-EV, engineered specifically for electric trucks.
Designed to overcome one of the primary challenges facing electric trucks – payload capacity – the AXCS-EV delivers a significantly reduced body tare weight, providing payload increases of up to 2000 kg, depending on truck body size and truck model.

Key to this performance is AustruckX’s intelligent material selection and engineering. The AXCS-EV features ProBond alloy composite panels on the front wall, delivering exceptional strength, rigidity, and impact resistance while contributing further weight savings.
The all-aluminium structure is complemented by a new-generation alloy curtain ratchet design, replacing traditional steel components to reduce weight, improve durability, and enhance ease of operation.
“The AXCS-EV represents a major advancement in body design for electric trucks,” said Grant Mitchell, AustruckX General Manager of Sales and Marketing. “Through innovative use of lightweight materials – such as composite front wall panels, floor construction, main beams and bearers and redesigned alloy hardware, we are enabling operators to maximise payload without compromising strength or reliability, when purchasing an EV Truck.”
The AXCS-EV is engineered for compatibility across a broad range of electric truck platforms with varying pallet size bodies and maintains the versatility and accessibility expected from a premium curtainsider body.
The reduced tare weight supports improved operational efficiency and makes electric trucks more commercially practical for freight, logistics, and distribution applications.
The AustruckX AXCS-EV all-aluminium curtainsider truck body is now available to order for suitable electric truck models.
