Daimler Truck Australia Pacific has recalled 52 Mercedes Benz Actros and eActros trucks in the year range 2022-2025.
The impacted variants are 963403, 983003, 983020 and 983493.
Daimler said that due to a manufacturing defect, the Advanced Connected Energy (ACE) chip within the starter battery may corrode.
This may cause an electrical short circuit while the vehicle is in operation and/or parked, leading to a vehicle fire.
Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised Daimler Truck dealership immediately to schedule an appointment to have the recall carried out, free of charge.
